On April 22, 2012 our parish was received, individually and corporately, into the Catholic Church under the provisions of the Apostolic Constitution (AC), Anglicanorum Coetibus, issued in November 2009 by Pope Benedict XVI. Our service of reception, conducted by Bishop Vincent Nguyen of the Archdiocese of Toronto, took place at the Church of St. Gregory the Great, Oshawa.

We are now part of the Catholic Church, as a community within the Canadian Deanery of St. John the Baptist, of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter.  As of Advent 2015, our distinctive form of the Mass: Divine Worship, now stands alongside the Ordinary Form and the Extraordinary Form (Latin), as the “Ordinariate Form”, an officially promulgated form of the western Rite of the Mass.  Alongside the Missal, we have received our own distinctive forms of Occasional Services: Rites of Intiation, Marriages and Funerals.  While fully approved Catholic rites, all of the Divine Worship services employ the style of language and many prayers drawn from the Anglican Prayer Book Tradition, best known to us in the 1962 Canadian Book of Common Prayer.

We welcome all interested parties to come and worship with us. Catholics who do so will have fully satisfied their Sunday obligation. We look forward to seeing you, and to sharing “the liturgical, spiritual and pastoral traditions of the Anglican Communion within the Catholic Church, as a precious gift nourishing the faith of the members of the Ordinariate and as a treasure to be shared” (Pope Benedict XVI, Anglicanorum Coetibus).
